Hello

Im looking to upgrade my pc to newest standards: pci5, ddr5, atx3.0, AM5 etc.

Online most publications recommend Ryzen 7 5800 x3d witch is AM4 socket CPU with comparable  benchmark scores to Ryzen 5 7600x.

Im wondering if Ryzen 5 7600x is a good, budget minded AM5 CPU for RTX 3090.

Sorry for any errors English is not my first language.

I'll be happy to provide more info about my plans if necessary.

pci5

Not going to be really worth it to chase, when 4090 barely saturates the 3.0x16. We are still years away from 5.0x16 saturation on consumer GPU. 5th gen on Nvme maybe worthwhile if you do large IOPS operation like high resolution high bitrate video editing but beyond that you don't see any difference, just being on pcie lanes is good enough for windows boot and gaming including those that uses Directstorage.

With 3090 level I'd at least go with 7700(X), 6 core CPU is really the bare minimum for mid-end gaming PC.

Also +1, if you can afford it. 8/16 frame time improvement would be pretty noticeable.

Ok then pcie 5.0 is a waste, and recommended  CPU core count for 3090 is 8.

What do you think about something like this than?

ASUS PRIME X670-P WIFI

AMD Ryzen 7 7700X

Kingston Fury Beast Black EXPO 32GB

Samsung 980 Pro 1TB

Cooler Master MWE 1250W V2 80+ Gold ATX 3.0

Thank you for the replies
