Perhaps the community would have some ideas, indeed  my HP ENVY - 17 - AE107NF laptop, purchased in 2018, and the recurring problems I have encountered with the battery. I'm wondering about the use of the battery.

After three years of use, the first battery in this computer stopped working and I had to replace it with a new identical battery. However, this new battery also caused problems. Last week, I noticed that the battery had started to increase in size, raising concerns about its safety. I therefore removed it from the computer.

I would like to know if there are any known compatibility issues between the battery and the computer, or if this could be related to a particular series of faulty batteries, according to HP support none have been listed. What I find surprising is that the battery has a voltage of 11.5V but the computer's charger is 19.5V - is this normal? The battery and charger are the ones given for this computer. Do you have any ideas?

Thank you very much for your help.

Yes, chargers having higher voltages than the battery is normal, especially in the days of USB-C. The laptop steps it down to what the battery needs. The higher voltage is needed for faster charging and less power loss over the cable or plug

Okay, thank you for the information! Then, it is not a reason for the issues with the battery.
