MSI X470 Gaming Plus not POSTing with NEW Ryzen 5 5600X and 2 RAM sticks

Hello,

I just upgraded from a Ryzen 5 2600X to a Ryzen 5 5600X. After installing the 5600X, I am not able to run my PC with 2 RAM sticks in anymore.
I have swapped back to my 2600X to see if my RAM slot is the issue, but it POSTs and works just fine with 2 RAM sticks when my 2600X is installed.
I have tried with a 2x8GB kit and a 2x16GB kit that work fine with my 2600X in A2+B2 as well as A1+B1, but no configuration with 2 RAM sticks will POST when the 5600X is installed.
When I put a single RAM stick into A2 from either kit, my PC POSTs just fine with the 5600X installed.
I have tried the suggested BIOS for the 5600X (7B79vAL) as well as the latest Beta BIOS (7B79vAM1) and the problem persists.

Any ideas? I'd really hate to have to buy a new motherboard as I purchased the 5600X SPECIFICALLY so I wouldn't have to dish out the money on a new motherboard.

Rma the 5600x

And might aswell swap it for a 5600 to save some money

Better yet when you refund the 5600x you can buy a used 5600x for 80-100$ that way you can directly test the cpu before buying and save some money by going used on a part that is essentially risk free as 99.9% of cpus dont up and die at random (and im not kidding when i say risk free coming from someone thats bought like 10+ of em)

I'd test that 5600X in another PC just to make sure it's not a faulty memory controller on the CPU.

Would if I could, but I don't sadly...

I'm inclined to believe that the issue is more likely related to the age of my motherboard over a defect in the CPU. I'm a bit out of touch now, but I remember CPUs being one of the least likely components to fail.

Have things changed or might I be better off getting a B550 board?

Take the CPU to a repair service and let them try it out on a motherboard.

But first, make sure there are no bent pins on the CPU.

CPU don't die that easily, but there are always chances that a product might come with a defect out of the box.

Just wanted to provide an update:

I ended up ordering a new B550 board. Upon installation with the new CPU and both RAM sticks, it worked just fine.

I took a chance buying a new board, but I remembered I've been having odd issues since I got the old board.

Thank you for the help!
