Motherboard corner opened up. Broken traces?

LoopS

Bought a second hand motherboard. and seems during shipping something went horribly wrong. i couldnt find any traces off the bat under the microscope. Havent received the PSU and CPU yet so waiting on those in order to test out. Thoughts?

I would generally recommend you knife off the damage if you are sure there are no needed traces on it, as there would still be internal layers for ground and possibly power.
otherwise it poses a risk of shorting it out

make a shipping claim even if it works, it’s quite severe damage

Yup. already made the claim as luckily it was insured shipping. Fingers crossed though.

If you've got the skills go for it

However this board is probably cooked regardless so if this was ebay or something flag it as broken on delivery

Yup already started a return on the product. Bit too much to handle. Well honestly maybe not too much skill with it. But this was supposed to be the first mobo i was going to use after replacing a socket. Been practicing on some dinged up ones recently. Cheers!
