So I have a Nvidia 770 and I want to make it run colder. It runs at about 50 C when playing ArmA 3 on Ultra, but I was wondering if there is any way of increasing the fan speed or something like that? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

50 C is fine, don't need extra cooling.

Fan speed is usually controlled automatically. All I can say is make sure it is dust free and make your room colder. Besides 50C is fine anyway you don't need to worry at all.

Thanks, I saw this video and he didn't really explain how to get the "Performance" tab, you know where I would find that?

@woochikaboo

You can use programs like MSI Afterburner to set costum fan curves for your GPU fans. You can decide whether you want a rather flat curve for silence or a stall one for maximum cooling. But 50 °C is really low. I would worry if you card goes above 80°C, because most newer nvidia cards will throttle and clock down at 85 °C.

Edit: 50 °C in games is in fact so low, that i would think about overclocking your card for more demanding titles. It's dead easy and super safe if you follow some rules and easy steps.

who cares...

That video is pretty old. The older cards ran hotter. 50 C is fine. What cooler do you have on it. I have my OC'd and it runs at 60C.

No I know how to get that haha, I am wondering about the performance tab in the Nvidia control panel.

Arma 3 actually is crap when in comes to gpu performance and never utilizes the gpu 100%. I just got a 770 MSI Twin Frozr which is arguably one of the best coolers and i keep my fan curve between 40 C and 60 C. MSI afterburner would be your best program. dont expect gaming temps on games other than Arma 3 to be below 50 C. hope i helped.

As others have said, 50C is a wonderful load temp. As for your actual question, I have an EVGA 660TI personally. I recently cleaned the dust out of it and accidentally detached the heatsink from the GPU (I didn't mean to, I unscrewed the wrong thing >.<). I had some 3 year old NH-1 thermal compound left over from my CPU build, so I got some alcohol, cleaned the old grease off both the heatsink and the GPU, and re-attached with a bit of the NH-1.

My temps were 10C cooler. I shit you not. The 660TI was only 6 months old. I...I don't understand how just changing the grease could make that big a difference. But I am happy. And yes, I did treat the NH-1 just like I would silicone sealant from an old tube: squirt out a bit to make sure it's still fluid and good farther down. For reference, my card has a completely stock/reference cooling solution. No Twin Frozr or anything special like that.
