Hello guys,

So I read about the thunderboltEX II and stuff it can do etc but I still don't fully understand what are the advantages of it? Also I was wondering if you can connect SSD to it and have it run faster or something? If any of you have the thunderbolt please say what you are using it for mostly or what would be the best use for it. Thank You.

You wont be able to plug an SSD into it internally. Sure you could get an external enclosure and plug it in. But you wont be able to use it as a boot drive.

Ok, so basically it functions the same way as an USB port but faster right? And why would you want to connect your display to it over a standard HDMI connection directly to GPU? (speaking of 1080p display)

Thunderbolt is like display port. Some monitors use exclusively thunderbolt connection for display. Such as the Apple display.

Yes it is basically like a faster USB port. With more functionality.
