Hello,

currently I'm quite lost on whats going on with my PC. It has been working fine for the last 3 years but after installing a Windows update it has not been booting at all. It stops at a blank American Megatrends screen and does not go beyond that. The motherboard (Gigabyte z390 gaming x) is lighting up the boot led and nothing else. I cant enter the BIOS or do any other checkups at this point. Is there anything I can check to rule out some possible causes for this? (Sorry for bad Image quality on the last pic, my phone could not handle the brightness)

Alright, I managed to go one step further by unplugging some parts from the power source. Currently the drives are unplugged as well as what I assumed to be the graphics card. I managed to boot into a linux (from USB). None of the status LEDs show up anymore on the MB

Hello impux. I have some suggestions for this issue , I personally didn't have an issue like this before but I can suggest some things:

1) Check if every component is running and if they are connected properly

2) Update your BIOS. If a BIOS update has caused this issue then try to revert back to older BIOS version if that's possible

3) Reset BIOS to its default settings

Your CMOS battery might be dead

I hope you get your issue fixed as soon as possible

Hello Aikawaii,

thank you for the suggestions. Before unplugging some cables I were unable to get into the BIOS at all. Right now I even managed to boot a Linux. So at the moment only the cables of the drives are disconnected from the power source meaning that it should be the main drive causing the issues (maybe due to the windows update?) I will try accessing and setting back the BIOS now, thanks. I just hope windows did not crash my main drive here.

Thanks again for the suggestion. That was it. The BIOS even reset itself when I went in there
