Hi All

Wonder if anyone can assist here.

About 2 weeks ago I bought a HP Compaq Pro 6300

To use as a server its worked flawlessly since then today I bought a PCIE M2 expansion card to put a m2 in there for better performance.

Bare in mind this PC was working 100% prior to this windows 11 NO ISSUES

Anyway I removed the SATA SSD i had windows 11 on and plugged in the expansion card and booted off a USB drive to install windows,

It installed perfectly windows install detected the 240GB M2 and installed 100%
It then rebooted and gave no boot media error, I did some googling and and found that it might be a needed BIOS update.

I had planned to do that later but needed the PC back till i can get around to do that.

(I didnt do the bios update)

So I removed the Expansion card and plugged the SSD back in.
Now the PC WILL not POST, NOTHING all i get is no signal on screen

No beeps nothing

Only sound I can make it do constantly is memory Beep if I remove all the ram that's it.

It power cycles 2/3 times then stays on and over the course of 2mins the fans spin up to max speed and then just stay on

Still no post

What I've tried:

  • Reset BIOS (Button)
  • 8 Different RAM stick combos (RAM that works in other system)
  • Removed BIOS (Jumper)
  • Remove battery and leave PC off for a while
  • New CMOS Battery
  • Added a Graphics card
  • Stripped the entire PC and cleaned it
  • Tried 2nd CPU that works in another system

If you put the pcie m2 back in the system does it at least show a no-boot media error? If that is the case have you tried putting both the m2 and sata ssd in the system and then selecting to boot off the sata ssd in the bios? That would at least get you back into Windows to diagnose it more
