CPU lifespan

New CPUs are made of smaller 7nm and 10nm. Does that mean they are less durable than older CPUs?

Your chip is made of 45nm which is smaller than the 65nm nodes that proceeded it, does that mean it was less durable than that? Silicon has always been very durable, with the only real way to break it being run way too much voltage into it for a long enough period of time. The motherboard is almost always the thing that gives out first, not the CPU itself.

How long would 7000 series 3D V-Cacle AMD CPU last? (with no overclocking)

I'd be expecting 15 years, long enough to the point where you'd want to get a new CPU anyway.

I have Core i7 920 since 2009 and more than 10 years of it was overclocked to 4GHz for gaming. It is 45nm CPU and still not dead.

Recently I decided to get a new CPU and necessary components. If I get an expensive CPU I would like to use it at least 6-7 years, but if it dies after 3-4 years I would regret for not buying a cheaper CPU. Why I am worried about this is because of two things:

- New CPUs are made of smaller 7nm and 10nm. Does that mean they are less durable than older CPUs?

- 3D V-Cache is sensitive to high temperatures and high CPU core speeds (high voltages).

The AMD warranty is 3 years, that being said I would think things are comparable if not better as far as die manufacturing. It is always hard to say what the life of something new and untested will be. All I can suggest is to get an overkill cooler or an AIO, a quality power supply, and get what you feel comfortable with spending as the cooler it runs the longer the lifespan in theory.
