Hi everyone thats reading this, i am looking to upgrade my graphics card as i have built a whole new system and have used my old GTX 1660 super. I have an i5 12th gen 12400f and im wondering if an RTX 4070 would be a bottle neck to the cpu, I am only gaming in 1080p at the moment but would like to upgrade to 1440p in the future. Any help is appreciated, Thanks

it should not bottleneck but i would recommend a 6800xt a 6900xt or a 6950xt

they all perform better than the 4070 at a lower price except the 6950xt which is a little more expensive but much better

Ok Thanks for your help 🙂

It would be lovely to get a CPU upgrade regardless but yeah id rather think of the CPU bottleneck later and just get the best deal you can.

Also, you need to remember that the RX 6000 series CHUGS power. If you have less than 750W PSU and its not the best unit in terms of overcurrent mitigation, you do better off with 4070 if buying a 6900/6950XT with a 750/850W PSU is going to be more expensive than just lone 4070.
