Hello guys,

I recently upgraded my PC, following are the specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M BS3H
RAM: GSkill 16x2GB @ 6000Mhz CL36
SSD: XPG s70 Blade 1TB
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 950
PSU: Silverstone 500W 80 Plus

The issue I am facing is that I hear a very light static sound (buzzing sound) in my headphone when plugged into my PC (motherboard audio jacks).
This didn't happen on my old PC. I don't think it is a grounding problem, because my headphone make no noise when the PC is off.
The buzzing sound starts when I login into Windows, and as my startup apps load it starts randomly during that period.
My Windows is up to date.
I tried cleaning the power outlet and the cables plugged into it in case of any settled carbon.
I also have a laptop, I drive the headphone I don't have any issues there.
Very weird and confusing.

Really appreciate any help.

Have you tried any other audio devices with your computer?

Yes, I did try with my earphones, static does exist. 😞

I believe Mingus meant another soundcard or amp&dac, not other headphones, but OK.

Do the headphones use a 4-pole TRRS jack? Or a 3-pole (no microphone)?

Have you checked for residual voltage on the grounding pin(s) on your wall socket or extension cord?

i mean other speakers besides your headphones

Yes, I have a headphone, earphones and speakers...
Red audio I plug my mic, green is for my headphone & blue is for the speaker output.
Static can be heard in both green & blue ports, it is very mild though.
Configuration for the green port is set to `Headphone` in the audio console and for the blue port it is `Front speaker out`.
This is what I had set on my old PC as well.

Understood, no I do not have any sound card/amp/DAC.
My headphone has a 4 pole, I use a Y splitter to connect to my PC.
I use Corsair HS50 pro headset.

How to check the following: Have you checked for residual voltage on the grounding pin(s) on your wall socket or extension cord?

You can use a voltage detector, a voltmeter, or a multimeter, or hire an electrician (to check your grounding).

My grounding is in place because the same power outlet I use for my laptop and old PC is also on the same outlet. I am not facing this issue with those.

UPDATE:

I think the static noise has something to do with audio drivers, I have noticed that it stops randomly.
I do not hear the noise when in BIOS.

My guess is that this started happening after I installed audio drivers from https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650M-DS3H-rev-1x/support#support-dl-driver

How do I uninstall these drivers? From the device manager?

Do let me know.
