Need Help- My PC shuts down randomly.

when there is any or at all voltage change my pc just shuts down and restarts on its own, the V change could as little as the UPS kicking in (when the electricity goes out and the UPS kicks in, and as soon as the electricity is back there is a yknow, click in the UPS, and thats one time where this issue happens the most). Its just my PC is blacking out and restarting so often i cant get any work down, i think its a PSU issue but i would want some opinion from others before i go get a new one.

Ryzen 5 4600g
16gb ram
No graphics card
550W corsair power supply 

1kVA UPS

Sounds more like a ups problem and if the power is getting shut off that frequently then that would be a more obvious focal point.

 

No desktop machine is designed or required to survive a full power outage. Its not a feature of the hardware and isnt a condition the machine is expected to endure.

It's definitely a PSU issue. Fortunately, since you don't have A GPU you could get a low-wattage one unless you want to upgrade in the future.

The thing is we dont get powercuts here often, and at times when it does go out its back in a min or 2 maybe, so my UPS can handle that, till that point the pc stays on on ups power the problem is when the electricity is back and the ups switches to the main power and the pc turns off in that microsecond window.

thus i thought might be a PSU problem, cuz as far as i know PSU are designed to work at a range of voltages and maybe mine is just not able to do that now...

i think so too guess i will just get a new psu and check it for myself

thats not how a ups works , the ups is always powering the pc itself. it just uses mains the charge but uses it's own battery and inverter to run the pc constantly.

thats how a ups can maintain power when suddenly cut. if the machine shuts off during that time it's because the ups cannot handle the sudden load placed on it from not being charged

Ok guess I had a wrong idea, but the ups is new like 2 weeks new, and I'm having this problem for a while now reason why I'm confused, rn i will try a different Power supply then let's see what happens

ok the time at which you purchased the ups has little to do with how old the ups is or how well it was made or how well it functions

Ok so it WAS a PSU issue i changed my PSU and now its completely fine and works as intended, PS- it wasnt the UPS.
