How to find the cause of a window that is opening for fraction of a second then closing on desktop?

lafrente

I get this flash from a window towards the top left side of the monitor opening and immediately closing. But it happens so fast, probably within a hundreth of a second and it disappears. How can I detect what that is?

Screen record if you like. Probably some cmd script of some application you have running that is meant to close once completed. Could also be malware, though that would have been sloppy to show a window even for a fraction of a second.

The tool Active Window Logger might catch it, but most likely it's something running command prompt or powershell so you have to then figure out what is running those tools.
