Ok so I’ve got a laptop I put a WD Black sn850x I’m not long ago but now I’m in the middle of building a new pc and going to be selling the laptop. Though I want to take the ssd out of the laptop before I do so. The problem I’m having is that I’m wanting to clear the ssd of everything before I take it out and put it in the new pc. I managed to get rid of most things but it won’t let me delete these 2 folders:

-Program Files

-WindowsApps

it keeps saying I need permission from trusted installer.

so I thougt ok… il just format the drive then and no it won’t let me format it either because it’s saying I’ve got applications open that are using the drive. So I have closed everything and it still wouldn’t work. I then looked up a few YouTube tutorials about giving myself full permissions which I now have but still nothing Is working and I have no clue what to do.

Instead of running circles around trying to delete files and folders and you have already decided that you don't need anything on the drive anyway, why not just delete the partition?  That will get rid of everything on that drive with pretty much no chance of recovery.  Use something like the AOMEI Partition Assistant and get rid of the partition.  That way, when you put it in the new case you will be able to install your operating system without the chance of overwriting any of your windows system files.  And it's FREE.  I keep it on my machine all the time.

Take Care and Good Luck.
