I bought a thermarite peerless assassin CPU cooler. It comes with a tube of thermal paste. Should I use the included thermal paste or "upgrade" to a better thermal paste like Arctic? Does it matter?

the included paste. Even if you get mx 6 it might be up to 4 degrees better but thats not confirmed so stick with the tube included

It doesn't really matter, most pastes that aren't complete garbage perform within about 3 degrees of each other at most. In my experience at least, the Thermalright TF7 that comes with that cooler is actually one of the better pastes I've used, so it's probably better than the say MX4 that you'd replace it with.

Thermalright?

You can certainly try use what's in the box, they are somewhat a main stream brand so it won't be crap to say the least.

If you are not happy with the temps, then you can certainly upgrade to say Kryonaut, MX-5/MX-6, Something from Noctua.

I would just use what's in the box.
