Signal Issues

So, I am having a problem where I will be on my PC just playing games, watching YouTube, etc. and the screen will suddenly go dark and say no signal then it will display a "out of range" message which only occurs when the GPU is feeding the monitor a higher refresh rate than it can handle. I have tried: updating drivers, booting into safe mode and uninstalling my display adapter and monitor. After these steps it seems to fix itself temporarily but then 30 mins later same shit again. I am at a loss as to why this keeps occurring, but it is annoying the fucking shit out of me so if anyone can help me, please do because I'm about to throw my damn PC out da fucking window.

Is your monitor connected via HDMI, or DisplayPort?

 

Do you have another cable you can try?

HDMI and yes I have switched cables multiple times.

Is the GPU crashing but the system still operating (sound keeps playing, etc), or does the whole system crash?

Everything else still works but there is no display. I can still hear music and sounds and everything.

try reseating your gpu. Or checking that it's power connectors are seated properly. Do you have a different monitor you can try?

Try to limit the framerate to your monitor's refresh rate and make sure the resolution and framerate inside Windows is set to the correct values

 

Or

You might need to check the GPU temperature's using a program like GPU-Z and make sure it doesn't overheat

 

If the temperature is fine follow above @filpo's advice reseating the GPU and Power Connectors

 

If that doesn't work either check the voltages of the GPU somehow using GPU-Z or HWMonitor or inside the bios make sure all the voltages are within spec 12v should be 11.40 V to 12.60 but realistically have it as close as you can to 12V as everything outside the range will cause the GPU to crash and you might need to replace the PSU

I don't think the GPU is crashing, I think the monitor is giving the error. The out of range error usually occurs when whe GPU is outputting a resolution that isn't supported by the display.

So I did DDU and it worked for 2 days and everything was fine. However, it just did it again this morning. I am at a loss as to what to do.
