Hi,

My current setup consists of a desktop PC with the following hardware configuration:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

Mainboard: MSI B450 Gaming plus max

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 16GB single stick

Graphics: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 (GV-970XTREME-4GD)

Power supply: 550W PSU

Storage: Corsair Force MP510 240GB nvme M.2 SSD (Operating System)

SATA HDD Seagate 3TB (Secondary Storage for media files)

The Issue

During my recent travels, I left my PC unused and put it turned off for a week. Upon my return, I attempted to boot Windows, but it failed. I turned to Google for help and discovered that resetting the BIOS or reassembling the RAM could resolve the issue. I proceeded to try both solutions, one after the other. After several attempts, including reassembling the RAM and flashing/resetting the BIOS, I was finally able to successfully boot up the PC and reach the operating system welcome login screen.

I encountered an issue while trying to log in to Windows. Upon entering the password, the system froze, and a blue screen error message appeared, indicating "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR". After a brief moment, the PC restarted and redirected me to the BIOS settings.

It seems that the M.2 SSD was initially detected by the BIOS under storage peripherals but disappeared shortly after, even though it's still in the slot. Despite persistently checking the BIOS, the M.2 SSD cannot be detected all day long. When attempting to boot to Windows, the BSOD message "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" appeared.

When I turn on my PC after a long time, the BIOS only detects the M.2 SSD once. However, after a few minutes of being on the BIOS settings, it disappears. The SSD only reappears when I turn off the PC and turn it on again after a significant amount of time has passed.

I've attempted to use startup repair and Windows restore, as well as other solutions, but unfortunately, none of them have been successful. To make it easier for you to assist me, I've included screenshots.

The M.2 SSD contains important files that I'm unable to recover due to the fact that I'm unable to boot up and log in to Windows. Additionally, I've noticed that the M.2 SSD feels excessively hot to the touch when I power on my computer. It appears as though it's been running for an extended period of time, despite the fact that I've only just turned on my PC.

It seems like there are sufficient airflows to maintain a cooler environment inside the CPU chassis. However, this should not be causing the M.2 SSD to heat up instantly during boot.

In 2020, I bought this M.2 SSD that comes with a 5-year smart warranty. However, I learned that if I send it to the RMA, they will only replace the drive and not recover my data files.

I attempted to use the Windows Recovery mode CMD notepad method to transfer my data to another drive. Unfortunately, this approach proved unsuccessful, as I encountered frequent freezes on the recovery mode when the M.2 SSD was installed in the Motherboard M.2 slot. It's worth noting that I don't use any heatsink on the M.2 SSD.

I'm unable to operate my desktop computer because of this problem that's greatly impacting my daily routine.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

Couldn't you test the drive in another PC (friend, relative) to check its health ?

I actually don't have another relative with a PC. I remember the drive had 88% health on Hard Disk Sentinel, and the program showed no errors, and it told warranty claim was not needed for now, the last time I used the PC properly before the travel.

ok

then you need an usb bootable USB stick to check what's working or not

Also seat your RAM stick in slot #2 it works better (but would work mucgh better with 2 sticks btw)

I have made an usb recovery disk on my laptop PC. Using that, I tried to go into the recovery menu, but it froze on the recovery mode startup while the Windows logo was flashing before the recovery mode opened.

I tried the RAM earlier in slot #1, but it insisted on putting it back in slot #2. So I reassembled it back in slot #2, but the problem still persists.

Try to test the drive, or reinstall windows

If reinstalling don't work the drive is toast

yeah, ofc that seems to be your real issue (failing ram) but since you say you want to access the data on ssd the above solution would be probably more appropriate than trying to "fix" it

either way screwing around with it just puts your data into jeopardy...... i would still recommend the above solution,  its hard to imagine you really don't know anyone with a working pc, but anyhow that is my suggestion.

buy a usb adapter for the hard drive read/copy the contents from a working PC

Problem. Solved. Kinda. ig?

What kind of USB adapter you are suggesting? I have made a Windows recovery pen drive but when I enter the recovery mode most of the time the M.2 Drive is not detected where I can reinstall the Windows.

Actually, I do have two laptops. I disassembled one and took that m.2 SSD and put it on my desktop. It loaded successfully on the first attempt and loaded the laptop's windows on the desktop and ran smoothly which indicates the desktop's RAM and other accessories are working effectively.

I have two of my relatives' Desktop PC but they told if I opened up their PC to test my drive, their PC might get issues as they had past experiences opening up their devices and the device started having issues that they don't wish to experience again.

Ohh. You are saying to buy an M.2 Enclosure. I thought about it but it seems a bit expensive here. That's why trying to fix the issue with other ideas.
