Check Podcastage on youtube, and take what he recommends.

 

I'd say some HyperX microphone would be OK.

At the $100-300 price range, you should go for an XLR setup rather than USB: Get an audio interface (i.e. Behringer UM2), an XLR cable, a pop filter, and some kind of stand or arm to hold the microphone.

 

For the mic itself, there are many great ones but the Sterling ST55 (neutral) and MXL V67G (mostly neutral, with some treble) are good choices

This is nothing at you personally, but these 2 sentences kinda encapsulate where online audio communities as a whole are at.  Lots of youtube influencers without much background or experience in audio, and whatever mics are being advertised by gaming companies.

 

The people who are recording artists, repairing boards, soldering mics, etc. are working 50+ hour weeks and travelling a lot; don't have time to consistently post content on youtube to get followers.
