Stripped 3ds screws

I don't know if this is the right subforum to post this in but about half of the screws in the back of my original 3ds where the battery is are stripped and I've tried many ways to get them out. I've tried the rubber band technique, I've tried to glue the screwdriver to the screws, and I've tried just brute forcing it. Does anyone have any ideas I can do without just ripping the whole back off? (That would be my last resort) The reason I want to take the back off is because my right shoulder button just doesn't register clicks. I want to see if it is just simply some dirt or the ribbon cable is bad.
