Hello,

So I' ve been experiencing this problem for about 6 months now.

My hot spot temp always rise about 1-2 weeks after repasting my 3070ti suprim x. I tried repasting the gpu multiple times with different thermal paste application techniques but after a week or two it starts to rise again until the Gpu starts to thermal throttle. It's not a memory temp problem as my memory temps are 70c on avg.

are you sure you have not damaged the thermal pads or anything in the process of repasting it? Check from multiple sources the temp when it gets hotter, make sure its not just the way your checking the temps is wrong.

My First PC
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
Cooler: Asus TUF Gaming LC240
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-f gaming
RAM: 4x8 GB Corsair Vengeance RS (3200 MHz, CL16)
Storage: 1tb Samsung 980 Pro
Graphics Card: Asus Dual RTX 2060 OC
Case: Deepcool Matrexx 50
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x
Headset: Razer Blackshark V2
Keyboard: Corsair K70 Pro Mini (Speed Silver switches)
Mouse: Razer Viper Mini
Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).

I love Photography (Using a Canon 60D)

Love F1, my favourite team is Ferrari and my favourite driver is Leclerc

I'm confiden't its not from the thermal pads or other damages because after repasting temps should stay high. When I repaste temps get back to normal and after 1 week-2weeks get back to thermal throttling. It feels as like the thermal paste starts to slide leaving hotspots on the die, btw my gpu is vertically mounted.

What paste are you using? I've heard that Arctic-MX4 likes to flow away, but I haven't been able to notice it in my laptop that I regularly have vertically like when I lay down and have it on my chest

Yeah I'm using the Artic-MX4. Is there any better suited thermal paste for vertical mounts?
