RAM discrepancy

Hello, I built my pc at about a week ago and was just rechecking if I missed anything in the BIOS and some fan settings.

I noticed that my RAM in the DRAM status is running at 2133mhz, but in task manager it says 3200mhz and CPU-Z 1599.6mhz.

I was just wondering if this meant in BIOS it's running at 2133mhz cause reasons or I set things up wrong.

You are understandably confused. BIOS also says its running at 3200mhz.

Its DDR (double data rate) so 1599.6 x 2 = basically 3200mhz so there aren't any discrepancies that i can see. its just how you understand it

All of this is as I'd expect it to be. 

 

ASUS BIOS reports memory frequency weird, the place where you'd expect it to say the current frequency actually reports the JEDEC speed of all memory sticks. If you look above it, it says you're at 3200. CPU-Z reports the actual memory frequency, not the data rate that is advertised and what the BIOS/Task Manager report. Since RAM is Double Data Rate, you take the memory frequency reported by CPU-Z, multiply it by 2, and that's the data rate you're actually running at.
