Random QLED lights up on boot, sometimes posts, sometimes doesn't.

@filpo

Big update:

before trying to unseat and reseat the cpu, I tried tinkering around the Bios and doing some research about people with the same problem as me:

Apparently, all I needed was to go in the PCIE slot settings and change the GPU slot Gen from AUTO to GEN 4 and that fixed the problem (for now) for me.

Now, even with EXPO I enabled, I'm able to boot into Windows. I haven't yet encountered the solid DRAM led anymore.

I hope to help people with the same problem as me who come across this thread.

Each time i boot my pc it sometimes won't post: today the CPU led lit up 2 times, then the DRAM (even tough i JUST installed amd expo certified ram...) and another time boot.

I don't know what's causing all this. Please help it's driving me clinically insane.

Specs: ASUS TUF X670E

Corsair Vengeance 32GB 6000Mhz EXPO

RTX 2070

Cooler Master Masterwatt 750

First I would take the CPU out the socket and check both the socket pins and cpu traces for any 'burns'. You probably won't have it but you may not have updated the bios. If there's nothing there then try reseating the cpu and then trying a bios update. If that doesn't work then try reseating the dram and then trying the ram in only one slot (A2)

I updated the bios as soon as i built my pc, didn't want to take any risks as i knew Asus boards had that problem.

You think a cpu reseat might work?

I've told @Blqckqut just yesterday to do it on their am4 pc (they were bootlooping as well) and it fixed it immediately. it could be something as simple as you ruffling the pc slightly. If that doesn't work try both reseating the ram and trying only one stick in slot A2

Alright, I'll order some more thermal paste and as soon as it arrives I'll try reseating it. Thnak you. Do you think I can revive this thread 2 days later to update the situation?

you don't need extra thermal paste. When I say reseat I mean just take it out and put it back in. Making sure you seat it correctly. The thermal paste will be fine untouched

Wait, don't I need to change thermal paste everytime i unscrew the cooler? I heard it breaks tension when you separate the two and need to replace it.

No it doesn't. That depends on how tightly you screw the screws
