Need help making a decision between 2 graphic cards

goodgold

I'm buying this PC, and they give me the option to choose between an AMD RX 580, and a GTX 1660 Super. For the GTX 1660 super, it is a 100$ more. I wanted to get the RX 580 because it was cheaper and I heard it still runs good, but I heard it's too loud, and I'm really big on my PC making too much noise and I want to make it as minimal as possible. Is there anything I need to consider when looking at these two to help me come to a decision?  Which one should I pick?

I think it would be better if you list out the whole PC and how much exactly are they. Because an extra $100 for a 1660S from a RX 580 seems like a rip off to me.

It's possible the seller is trying to rip you off in other ways.

GTX 1660 is not worth the extra $100.  Is there a choice to not take either?

Are these new or used?

What versions of the card?

Full pc specs?

Psu model in detail please not just wattage and efficiency.

For noise you'll need to know the exact brand and model of 580 or 1660, since that's going to vary, and then try to find a review of the specific one.

yes, for a even more expensive price you can get the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT that's 200$ more then if you get the RX 580. Sadly there isn't a choice to get no GPU.

Sorry about that

I think you could build something yourself on that budget.  Others can make suggestions.

Yeah I would not buy that unless it was literally my only choice.

Something like the either of these 2 builds would be significantly better performance and more future proof than that:

~$70 more and you can get this: https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/mtFfrH/modest-amd-gaming-build

~$30 less and you can get this: https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/bJQzK8/entry-level-intel-gaming-build

Both of these are significantly newer parts and in either case you'd see anywhere from a 30-50% increase in performance.

I'll definitely take this into consideration, thank you

Both of those options have hard drives. As for fans you’d probably end up wanting to add one or 2 to the system eventually but If you’re just gaming the included fans and the included CPU cooler should be okay for a while as long as the temperature in your room isn’t regularly over 75 degrees Fahrenheit. If your room tends to be warmer than that, I’d probably recommend upgrading the CPU cooler and getting some extra case fans. Most cases come with at least 1 extra fan though so I wouldn’t make it a priority.
