PC HELP!

Go to solution Solved by JJIN1025,

Issue should be resolved now. I think updating the BIOS along with manually downloading the Grpahics Driver was the solution. I saw on the Bios update notes that it improved memory performance which definetly helped considering my memory wasn’t on the QVL list. Had to order online because the Microcenter near me didn’t have the compatible ones

Yeah, csv is what you want. Your cpu is nice and cool. Your gpu on the other hand is running a temp. Is this at idle? You are at 70c on gpu which is a temp you normally see while in game, not at idle.

These are my stats right now. Updated Report. Yep this is my temp when I'm idle/watching Youtube. I peak at 70C when playing games not sure why its like that on idle

By everything do you mean like all the components. I'm not sure how exactly I would do that. Through BIOS?

XMP is disabled already and the Ram is installed in the 1st and 3rd slot

Ok, did you reset any changes to your CPU speeds/voltages back to factory stock?

Sorry to butt in here:

I noticed you are also having the dreaded Nvidia Nvlddmkm error. From what you were explaining in your initial post, freezing, black screen, audio buzzing etc, I was having similar issues as well with my Nvidia 3070 Founders.

The Nvlddmkm error can mean 1 of 2 things from my experience:

1. GPU is dying

2. GPU driver corruption

What I've done working wit Nvidia support in my initial troubleshooting was to run the Video Card Stability Test software. The Nvidia support agent told me that if I experience a crash during the test within ~10 minutes the card is bad and they would do an RMA.

If your card doesn't crash after running the Video Card Stability test you might have driver corruption. I understand that this is a new build, but there are Windows services that can interfere with installing GPU drivers and cause instability like this. I would recommend doing a clean uninstall of your video driver and reinstall with some Windows settings turned off. I found a great walkthrough and explanation from Jaystwocents which you can watch here.

You will want to follow these steps in order to get a clean driver installed as well as turn off Windows Fast-Startup

1. Disable Fast-startup

2. Download DDU and your latest video driver

3. Disable Windows Automatic install of drivers

4. Restart in Safe mode

5. Run DDU

6. Once done, restart back into Widnows.

7. Perform installation of Driver

I followed these steps and so far so good my 3070 is much more stable now. I have yet to experience a crash since doing these changes. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Good luck with your troubleshooting. I hope my steps help!

It's not. Is this the cause of the issue then?

When QVL incompatibility is a small thing...it's not a "never causes issues" thing, but as it stands the info @techead87 brings up is probably far more of an issue.

Just followed your steps and watched Jayz "What to do AFTER you build your PC... Updated for 2023". Thanks!

Got it. I'll return my memory to Micro Center tomorrow and get a compatible one. Haven't had any errors so far fingers crossed.
