Hi, i just recently upgraded win 8 to 8.1 and something went very wrong the time i restarted my computer, I was getting the black screen of death with cursor and keyboard working but presseing ESC i would get the login screen just fine.

now on any program I try to execute i get an error message 0xc000012f, i tried restarting with windows update but it says i need to update video card driver, i tried the automatic way and manually but i still get the error and cant update it now.... at last i just got fed up and wanted to wipe everything using the Format C: but apparently my HDD is too big for it and now considering just ripping it out and drilling holes through it and replacing it.

thanks for the help.

Thank piratebay..

on the otherhand. have you tried resetting bios or something? probably you have to connect the hard drive to another PC as a slave & wipe/format the main partition drive and go in with a new installation.as a fresh hdd back in your rig.

post back until we can try & get it fixed.

ninja never plays around

Do you have any Windows disk? You can format the disk before you chose which volume you want to install the OS on...

EDIT// Or even USB, you can download a genuine windows ISO no problems...

just the initial install disk for windows 8

That will work, you should be able to format the disk with that, when it comes up with drive you want to install on go to advance and delete the volume/partition.

unfortunately it doesnt work just tried using the OS DVD and it says it failed to install windows 8....

when i try to format the hdd, it says the partition is missing lol, if i were to buy a brand spankin new HDD and replace it and install Win 8, would that work for starting fresh?

edit: any program i try to run i get incorrect image error 0xc000012f
