Size on Disk much higher after copying from C to D

Filingo

Hello,

I copied 4 folders with the total size of 1.69GB.

I copied the 4 folders from C to D drive

On the original path, the Size on Disk was 1.89GB, and in the new location, the Size on Disk is 4.21GB

What could cause that?

Thanks

Use an app like TreeSize Free (there is a portable version, so no install needed) to check the source and destination folders for differences in files and sizes.

The two drives could have different sector sizes.

What are these two drives, and how are they formatted?
