CPU Delid Booth

Hi,

 

does anyone know how the cpu delid booth is going to work? Will there be CPUs to buy at the booth? Do i need to bring my own? Is there a recommended CPU, where it is easier to do? Do i have to register for a specific time?

 

This will be the first time i am there, so I have no idea

Hey!

• We're working on getting some CPUs (for purchase or just for free) if you do not want to use your own or have your own. We can't guarantee how many we'll have, so find a dead CPU maybe just to be safe.
• I don't think the difficulty changes much between the different CPUs.
• We're planning on getting the Die Mate X, Die Mate 2, and the AM4 kit for the Die Mate 2.
• No registration is needed!

I could see this going wrong. 

We're not using "tooth paste" anymore on the IHSs. 

A quick chat-GPT check says that STIM melts at 183C (361F). 
 

 

It might be more worthwhile to look into a lapping station. This is WAY lower risk.

will there be extra tools available for doing it the old fashioned way if the Die Mate tools are incompatible? I was planning to bring a 4th gen i5.

the die mate 2 shows compatible with all lga 115x processors. if thats wrong, then im going to have issues with the 2500k i plan to delid lol
