Hey everyone! I originally posted this on r/hardwarehacking, but thought it would be good to hear folks here.

I was planning on extending the life of my daily driver machine a bit more as it seems to be dying slowly, by possibly modding it a bit. I will provide the specs below, as well as the reason why, but for those who don't wanna read the whole thing:
- Is it possible to retrofit the new magsafe port from the new macbooks to use it with the 140W power adapter, avoiding the TB3 USB-C power circuit (TB3 only allows 100W)? I don't need it to be fitted within the chassis, it can dangle or fitted somewhere externally.

Specs:
A1990 2019 15'' Macbook Pro
i9 9980HK, 32GB RAM, Radeon Pro 560X GPU

Backstory and reasoning:
So, for those who got questions - the macbook's battery is dead. I have removed it from the casing a while back as it turned into r/spicypillows. I am only running this under Bootcamp with an external GPU in my Razer Core X with RTX 2070. I disabled Turbo Boost and run games on it with no issues, however I have stumbled upon issues ever since the battery got removed - whenever there is a spike in power consumption, the pc shuts off. This could easily be fixed by undervolting in ThrottleStop, but this is exactly why I wanna do the mod. To not undervolt to 1.7GHz and possibly extend the life of this macbook a little more before I finally give in and switch to an actual desktop. But also it seems like fun soldering and researching project. If someone could point into the right direction or straight up tell me if it's possible/worth it, I will greatly appreciate that. Thank you for your time!

The macbook needs the battery to properly function as the 100w charger doesnt cut it and there is also no way to push more

So basically the fix is get a battery

I am well aware, but that is not at all what I am asking. Thank you for your response though.

The thing is there isnt really anything to mod as all you could do is make a "fake battery" that is just a charger thats internally connectes to the battery header. Which also has a MASSIVE issue of if its charging the charger blows up.

There isnt a way to give the macbook more power as it simply needs to come from 2 sources. One which has to allowed power in to
