fps drop in The witcher 3

i have a problem where after about 15-30 mins of playtime my fps in-game drops significantly from around 60-70 fps to 20-30 fps and i have no dea why.

my system specs are:

win(pro) version 22H2

ryzen 5 5600x

16 gb ram

msi rtx 2060

550w psu

i have all the latest driver updates

What are you using for cooling? It may be that your cooler is absorbing thermal energy to the point that it can't absorb anymore, and is becoming bottlenecked by the rate at which it's fans can bleed heat to the surrounding air. Make sure the fans on your GPU are working properly. Does this happen in any other games? If so, which ones?

both my cpu and gpu are maxing out around 82c with stock cooling solutions for both, the only other game i play is csgo but i dont have any issues with it

december 22 witcher 3 was updated.. try the DX11 version.. as the new DX12 are specked for 30 and 40 series cards now.
