Is it worth upgrading my Ryzen 3500 to a 5600/5700x?

I mainly play some Apex which runs smooth at 144fps on my ryzen 3500+rx 6600, for story games I play them on medium on 72fps lock.

Now is it worth investing the extra on a new cpu, don't want to upgrade to the ddr5 platform yet.

If you are getting the performance that you want its up to you. if your performance is good for your standards I don't see any need to

yeah it's about peak time to upgrade from 3000 to 5000.
I would skip low tier cpus and just get a nice one since your next upgrade would be a platform change anyway, so may as well extend that out a bit with a more top spec cpu hat will hold on longer.

if it was a 3600 i wouldnt, but the 3500 has no SMT, its a 6/6 and Apex does scale 6/12 even if its a fucking source title.

Any decent Zen 3 part will stomp your puny 3500 into the ground.
