(There's no need to run an NVME SSD in a NAS. Your network speeds are always going to be your bottleneck, even with spinning drives. It won't be any more difficult, storage is storage.)

the only real advantage of running nvme (or any SSD) in a NAS is going to be less noise since the spinning platters are taken out of the equation.

not that it will mean much in most servers considering their fans are usually loud AF

I even went so far as to custom build a DAS with Noctua fans because 1800RPM redux fans at 100% all the time is massively quieter than anything I could get off the shelf
