Hi I am getting really choppy frames whenever i go onto my game, ive tried switching drives and encoders but nothing seems to work. i have also changed bit rates everytime.

I am also on a amd card

specs

ryzen 5 3600

rx 5600xt

16gb 2444mhz ram

500gb ssd 3tb hard drives (tried all drives) no change

I had the same problem,. i had the CPU usage set to high.  going slower actually means that it pulls more on the CPU and looks choppy.  Try a "faster" setting.

 

The exact notes I put in my installation notes is:

A bitrate MKV file of 3500 kbps, at 1920x1080, file type mkv, 30 fps: 5 minutes is 100 megs
but you should set it to 1280x720 ("rescale" option above) with variable bit rate and CPU usage preset of "medium".
Going slower than that will look great for a short time till the CPU warms up, then it gets laggy.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...

Whats weird is i could use OBS with a 3600 and like 22000kbps/60fps (or higher when 4k) and it was smooth most of the time, so it probably depends on the games also. However yours might just be overheating,so what are the temps, what cooler are you using?
