I just bought new RAM that is 4000MHz and want to make sure it is compatible and won't cause me any software issues:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x

Motherboard: MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS

NEW RAM: T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 4000MHz CL18

are you able to give me the product number for the RAM? It will look something like this: TLZGD432G3200HC16C01

Maybe I'm blind but I'm not seeing any T-force sets on the motherboard compatibility list with the same speed and size on there. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-B550-GAMING-PLUS/support#mem

The model you have likely isn't officially supported but it might work just fine, go ahead and install it and set it to expo speeds. Test it with memtest, or OCCT for stability.

Hmm I'm not able to either, though it seems like my board supports A LOT of T-Force RAM variations.

It should technically work, just give it a try. If you boot into windows with no problem and your still worried there might be stability issues run a ram stress test via OCCT for about 30 mins.

It likely wont work stably at 4000 since youd have to tune the cpu to actually hit 2000fclk and not all cpus can do 2000 fclk

Its problably micron 16gbit rev b so if you are interested in tuning them past 5000 then sure these are some of the better ics that can hit those speeds and you got a decently high bin so you may see a benifit going for desync fclk if you can hit that 5000+ although do keep in mind youll need a fan since youll have to run at 1.7v vdimm and theyre gonna be really volatile cause temperature, heres an example

Otherwise just return and buy a 3600c18 kit
