Some advice on Z790 for 13600K/DDR5 and the rest of my build?

I have these as my options:

ASRock Z790 PRO RS WIFI

ASRock Z790 Sonic

Gigabyte Z790 Gaming X AX

Asus Z790 Prime-P WIFI

And the rest of my build will be:

CPU: Intel i5 13600K - already have

GPU: MSI RTX4080 Gaming X Trio - already have

NVME drive: Samsung 980Pro 2TB - already have

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 32GB 6400MHz CL32

CPU cooler: Deepcool LT720

Case: Montech Sky Two

PSU: Some ATX3.0 850W??

Would appreciate some advice here because I already have some parts sitting on my desk and would like to finish with this build and never look back 🙂

Specs for each aren't too far apart. If all are suitable I'd go with either the cheapest or the coolest-looking one depending on what takes your fancy.

The Z970 Sonic gets my vote! That thing is beautiful.

Glowing screen captures,

Sleep eludes, lost in pixels,

Restless eyes still yearn.

I wouldn't get asrock boards as they only have about 1 year warranties and asus's lower end boards aren't too good so I would get the gigabyte board

AFAIK ASRock provides a 3-year warranty for their motherboards.

On the other hand, I just read about the coil whine issue on Gigabyte Z790 ones... Oh my...

Just for gaming, DDR4 is still good enough for Raptor Lake. And in DDR4 your board and RAM kit options are going to be cheaper overall.

Also LT720 is a bit overkill for it when Peerless Assassin is good enough for it. Reinvest the savings on overall better airflowing case.

+1 tho, recently checked and turns out DDR5 only gives about 5 or 10 more frames if your in a gpu bound setting

for a 13700k? A thermalright would be fine but why not spend about 50-80 bucks more on a better cooler

Or just buy better thermal paste OP

The Gigabyte board hands down. It has superior VRM's vs those other boards.

Is this coil whine on Gigabyte motherboards that people mention a thing>?

Are those VRM's that much superior on Gigabyte board vs ASRock for 13600K considering I will use LT720 or some other 360 AIO and possibly even undervolt it?

Better brand too. Idk how ASRock is with their current line of motherboards, but people had nothing but headaches with generations prior (not just purchased with the cheap pre-built options they throw in though).
