Help with choosing a processor

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Red Dead Redemption 2, Hogwarts Legacy, League of Legends, Cyberpunk 2077 and other AAA games at 1440p 144Hz.

 

I'm building my first PC and I'm wondering if Ryzen 5 7600 is good with AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT or if I should get a better processor.

7600 is good, but if you can afford it rather take the 8cores 7700X

I would actually get the 7700 non x as it’s basically a 7700x without the power consumption and high thermals

Cyberpunk 2077 is basically your weak link you need to build around.  Stick AM4 based if AMD for now, or go with 13th gen intel.  Again, because of Cyberpunk, Nvidia RTX 4080.  Benchmarks I've seen for that game on AMD are horrific at best, unless someone has something more recent for newer AMD drivers.
