I'm probably going to be planning a build with the new RTX 40 series cards. (Games and resolutions listed below) Which one would be better for me? If I end up getting a 4080, I will use the R7 5800X, and if I get the 4090, I will use the R9 5900X.

Games & Resolutions:

- COD Warzone 1/2 (1440p, High/Very High/Ultra)

- COD Modern Warfare 1/2 (1440p, High/Very High/Ultra)

- FIFA (1440p, High/Very High/Ultra)

- CSGO (1440p, High/Very High/Ultra)

System will be paired with 32GB 3600CL16 DDR4 and 1TB Gen4 storage. (Most probably Windows 10).

Due to price alone, I have an extremely hard time recommending the 4090.

4080 is much better value.

Why are you going with the AM4, are you spending most of your budget on the GPU?  4080 would be best for your use case at 1440p 🙂  All the games you listed will be a piece of cake for a 4080.

I was contemplating that it wouldn't be enough but I think it will. Thank you! 🙂

Even my 2080 Super ran 1440p games quite well at high settings!  4080 is the 2nd or 3rd fastest gaming GPU on the market, of course its going to be enough for 1440p 😄  It eats 1440p for breakfast.

You're not playing at 4K and you're most likely not using RT, why not get a 7900 XTX? Way cheaper than a 4090 and out performs it in COD. Will perform around 10% less at 1440p than the 4090 at all other games for 40% cheaper (maybe more or less depending on pricing in your region)

I have GTX 1070 (8gb) and I run all possible games with maxed out details on 1080p without RT, and I am getting all the time more than 60 fps, and btw my monitor is 32 inch 1080p with 60hz. Even if I will be getting more then 60 fps I can't see them because of my current monitor.

If you buy 4090, your system will perform them same with 4080 because of your CPU bottleneck, so 4090 for this build will be just waste of money.
