Acceptable CPU temps for first build

Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

Safe temps are anything below 90c. At idle, it's pretty common for Ryzen CPUs to idle around 40C, so your idle temps seem like what I'd expect, game temps can range anywhere from 50 to 80C depending on the game and what part you're in, and in something all core like Cinebench they're usually somewhere between 70 and 90C depending on a couple factors.

Hi everyone!

I just built my first PC and I have been trying to find optimal CPU temps and case temps online but I am not finding much. I am hoping the LTT community will come through like they always do.

my build

NZXT H5 Flow

AMD Ryzen 5 4600g

Noctua NH-12S cpu cooler

EVGA 3060

2x  140mm and 1x 120mm Noctua redux at the front blowing air in.
2x 120mm Noctua redux blowing air out. One out the back and one out the top.

I run a dual monitor set up and I can game with one monitor and stream video on the other.  My CPU temps hover between 37-39c and case temps is around 30-32c.  As a first time build I wanted to make sure that was ok and if not what recommendations would you have.

thanks a ton!

What a waste of money, you put $250 worth of cooling for a $100 budget CPU that don't even need more than the stock cooler  ??

Get full custom loop next 😄

I appreciate the feedback and suggestion, even though they were shrouded in a rude undertone. It is a first build and I wanted something quiet and the PC is that. I also have room to upgrade which is nice.  I do appreciate that you tried to share helpful feedback but you may not want to be ignorant while trying to do so in the future

Ok apologies was a little rude Indeed, but that's true...

More fans = more noise, and your CPU will be perfectly cooled by the cooler alone

Just keep maybe 2 fans intake front one rear exhaust, all very slow under 800rpm, will be super quiet

Ok!  Next time I have to move it I will try that!  Thanks for the tip 🙂
