Hi! I have been the proud owner of a PC since 2020 and have not experienced problems with it for 3 solid years. Last year I upgraded my CPU and motherboard and I have very recently bought a 2Tb WD_Black sn770. It worked very nice for a few days but suddenly my PC is throwing a lot of BSODs at me. Mostly Clock_watchdog_timeout. The only overclocking I have done was ASUS Ai overclocking, XMP, and a bit of MSI afterburner. Ofcourse, when I got the first error, I turned all these overclocks off. Didn’t help. I did a fresh install of Windows 11. Didn’t help. Ran memtestx86, RAM is good.

Updated the BIOS. Didnt help. I am now at a point at which I am pulling out my hairs and going insane, I have no idea what it could be.. Is it my CPU? Or does it have something to do with my new SSD? If you have any idea what it could be please let me know! And feel free to ask any other questions.

spec list:

  • Windows 11 x64-bit
  • Intel i5 12600k
  • ASUS Z690-A Gaming wifi D4
  • 2x8 Corsair vengeance RGB pro SL
  • WD_Black sn770 2Tb
  • MSI gtx 1060 6Gb gaming X
  • EVGA supernova G3 550W
  • Desktop

Edit 1: did an install of some new intel RST drivers, fixed the problem for a few days, but it is coming back again. I will put a dropbox link in this topic with the Sysnative BSOD files.

s it my CPU?

The BSOD error links to your CPU and occurs when the CPU has a delayed clock interruption or when the thread is forced into a wait state

try a cpu reseat and check if mobo pins are bent. Do you have any debug lights lighting up (you would've probably already said that tho if there were)

Can the computer still boot up fine and then it crashes and shows the BSOD or can it not post or go into bios?

Something to try would be a boot to safemode as that can be a problem with a driver. Also boot with bare minimum of USB devices.
It could be a dying power supply, but if it happened just as you added the SSD, perhaps you bumped a power cable somewhere.

It boots up fine, but it pretty quickly starts to slow down, freezes, and then gives the BSOD. I have just installed a new intel RST driver, and it seemed to work fine for now. But it might do it again. I’ll keep you updated
