7.1 Soundcards

Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

those cheap usb thingies are often hot garbage. if there's any noise on the USB power, that comes straight trough.

cant quote on how well the HyperX handles that, but i give that a better chance than a "sort by price" ebay special.

I have a question, does a hyperx 7.1 soundcard sound better than any cheap 7.1 soundcard? I mean like the one that comes with the cloud 2 aux input to usb output vs the same thing but not hyperx branded, and cheaper?

Left the pic of the cheap one as an example

So I recommend you just use 2.1 because virtual 7.1 has issues. There have only ever been 2 real 7.1 headsets and both were from razer. Worked well but cost a ton, were a mess of cables and the quality was lacking with often the smallest drivers failing after some years of use.

Not ebay but yeah, the original 7.1 would cost me 20$ and then there is the volume over 3.5 which is very low for some reason.

found them used for $65. A little out of my budget though

Do not get them.

They are brittle and break easily.

Just get a nice pair of headphones. 7.1 and 5.1 only work well if there is actual space between the speakers.

Why are you looking for something else? For that budget you can get like a samson 850 open back which is nice but this is like EXTREME budget stuff.

idk, checking out if there is any good option that would be better than a Kingston pair of Hyperx Cloud II or Arctis 3?

Ok so these are broken as long as the battery isn't swelling they'll work ok.

It's better than the hyper clouds but also it's broken and has been modified
