I'm about to change my OS drive but haven't done that in a while.

At first a quick question, do PCIe 4.0 SSDs work in PCIe 3.0 slots (at PCIe 3.0 speeds)? I know that PCIe is by design backwards compatible, but I have never tried it with a SSD. I got the PCIe 4.0 SSD really cheap so I went for it, worst case it does not work and I can sell it on eBay.

Second question:

What is the best tool to move the OS to a new (bigger) SSD? I have done it before with Macrium Reflect some years ago but maybe there are better tools now.

I know a fresh install is always better, but a recent hardware upgrade bricked my windows installation so I already reinstalled win10 just about 4 months ago and don't fell like doing it again today

yes they do you just need to set the speed to pcie gen 3 (in the bios) and it'll work
