PC Complete shutdown (crash) without BSOD

Go to solution Solved by TheDoctoriino,

I have managed to solve this issue, turns out it was my motherboard attempting to auto OC the CPU

which caused insane voltages and the shutdowns

How to fix for anyone else:

1: Find setting called MultiCore Enhancement (MCE) in BIOS

2:  Disable it (set it off)

3: Done

Hey guys!  I am having an extremely weird issue which I have not been able to solve for months now, I made a post to r/techsupport reddit about this same issue but now i am extending my help request to here aswell.

TLDR: PC shuts down and instantly reboots itself during gameplay.

My Post on Reddit about it:

Note: This is my first time posting here so please notify me if I can do something to improve my post! ❤️

I have so far encountered this issue while playing 2 games, Hearts of Iron 4 and FIFA 23.

On "HOI4" the issue happens extremely rarely, we are talking once / twice in 100 hours of gametime.

On FIFA23 the issue can happen in anytime frame but usually every third game session or so, the timeframe of the issue happening can range from 5 minutes to 8 hours.

The crashing can happen anytime in a timeframe of 5 minutes within launching game to 8 hours of gametime.

Attempted fixes:

1: Cleaned entire PC (cleaned off dust, even swapped thermal paste, remounted everything)

2: Contacted support of Microsoft, EA, PowerColor and followed their advice to no avail

3: Reinstallation of the OS

4: Tried with different GPU drivers.

5: Bought a new PSU

6: Made custom fan curves for fans to ensure that everything is properly cooled.

7: Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic (Came back saying no problems found)

Specs:

OS: Windows 11 / 64 bit

CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K

CPU Fan: Noctua NH-D15 with 2 140mm fans

Front Fans: 2x 140mm

Back Fans: 1x 140mm

GPU: Red Devil AMD Radeon™ RX 6900 XT Ultimate 16GB GDDR6

Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING

SSD 1 : Samsung 990 Pro NVMe PCIe M.2 2TB

SSD 2 : Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK64GX4M2E3200C16 2x31

PSU: Corsair 1200W RM1200x SHIFT

BIOS Version: Newest available for board (2004)

I am seriously going to burst from joy if anybody can figure out what is wrong with my system 😞

Have you been able to check the temperatures during gameplay, particularly CPU? I know you said you adjusted fan speeds but I'm wondering what temps you get when running a game or stress test

Hey! Thanks for your reply,

I have been monitoring the temperatures with HWMonitor while playing the game.

The temperatures have ranged from min 77 and max 89

and the last time i crashed (today, couple hours ago) the temperature of the cpu was 80 celsius when i crashed.
