im not sure what you mean by pressing it but i can see my cursor on it

that the panel is delaminating so the light panel in the back shines through on the top.. is the line permanent?

if you see the panel.. but it's just not dark anymore it probably is.. due to age the tape dries up and looses grip.

that it goes away after a few hours are probably panel heating up expanding and closing the tiny gap that let's light through in the start.

G3 is not new.. i have a G7 bought two years ago. now G9 is out i think.

over time electronic components fails.. if it's past warranty i would replace it.

failure can also be a bad contact on the system board inside.. called cold solder point..  a badly connected solder point that looses connection over time, but hard to say as i have not troubleshot that device.

or a bad chip that fails when it swaps to 144hz. or both..

have you tried upgrading firmware? i had to upgrade mine after a windows update.. as i saw the left half on the screen in the center of the monitor at 240hz HDR.. anything else worked normal.

I have the same problem, when I try to use it at 120hz with my xbox series x it only works at 60hz through the HDMI port, the problem appeared from one moment to another.

did you manage to solve it?

greetings.

I have the exact same problem. I was using the computer and all of the sudden, screen started to go black. Now It won't work on any setting higher than 60hz. It only shows a few lines of active pixels on top, just like the picture. Even at 60hz it shows faint horizontal lines moving up and down the screen. From what I could gather researching online it's a failure of the T-Con portion of the board. I do not know what that means, but I know I am never getting anything Samsung again. Less than two years of mild use and this thing is bound for the landfill.

Update - I pulled the thing apart and got to the board. Found used replacements on ebay, new ones on AliExpress, which I suspect are actually replicas. Dunno if they work, but I think I'll give a try.

I tried installing a brand new board from AliExpress. It works exactly like the OEM one, which is to say the problem persists. It still does not work on any setting above 60hz, and even at 60hz and below, it shows horizontal ghost lines moving up and down the screen. Never getting another smasnugg monitor again.
