So apparently I'm behind on the news, and just learned pfsense Plus is free for home users.  I've been running CE for a while now, and everything has been fine. Would you "upgrade" to Plus? Does anyone here run Plus over the CE? (That doesn't own Netgate hardware) Is there a reason to, if I don't need any of the added features I saw listed?

So I ended up asking this on Lawrence Services forum, and got some feedback. The biggest thing that caught my eye that Tom pointed out, was Plus added ZFS boot environments, which is nice (Lots of the other selling points for plus, I really don't care about).

So I decided to go ahead and upgrade. I installed originally using ZFS, so everything was set. I didn't remove any packages and still everything upgraded fine.

pfblockerng, has changed some, so my config didn’t directly translate, but it didn’t break anything. Just I had to setup some things in the newer version. As someone who knows just enough to be dangerous, I prefer and found the updated version much easier to work with.

Everything is working great. Seems like the update was worth doing honestly. Now I’ll go find some wood to knock on hope I didn’t jinx myself… My initial thoughts and impressions though, are that I would upgrade again.

I may consider upgrading... I have been on CE for a few years, but I suppose there is no good reason not to go + vs CE.
