I don't know if it's even possible to buy brand new motherboards from that generation. You're likely gonna be limited to used motherboards off ebay. Hard to recommend something since who knows what you'll find for however much you're willing to spend. As far as brands go, Asus will probably be your best bet, but MSI or Gigabyte will probably be fine. Should note (needless to say) whatever motherboard you buy will be long past the manufacturers warranty expiration date.

Ditch that ancient 6900k and buy a ryzen 5500/5600 + used b3/450 which will obliterate it in both single and multithread

 

used x99 = stupid expensive for proper boards, youll only find china boards for somewhat decent prices (60-100$), and even then youll get more money by reselling that 6900k and buying a ryzen 5500/5600 with used b3/450 that also cost around the same anyways

I used to have an i7-6800k many years ago (not a 6900k but not significantly different), and I upgraded to the Ryzen 7 3700x on day one of its release, and even with that I saw a major difference in performance.
