New Pc

Go to solution Solved by Mr.Zixxel,

Your proposed configuration looks great for gaming and school workloads.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X paired with the Radeon RX 6800 is a powerful combination that should provide excellent gaming performance at 1440p.

The Corsair H100x cooler is also a good choice to keep your CPU cool under load, and the Corsair RM650x PSU is reliable and efficient.

I would possibly try to get a slightly newer generation of processor and graphics card, it's not a must and your build looks good, but if there is something I would change, that's it.

The only thing I would suggest is to upgrade the RAM to 32GB, especially if you plan to use the PC for school workloads.

Running multiple applications and tabs can quickly eat up memory, and having 32GB of RAM will ensure that your system runs smoothly and doesn't slow down.

Also, if your budget allows, you can consider upgrading the storage to a larger capacity, like a 2TB or 4TB drive.

This will give you more space for games, files, and programs without having to worry about running out of space.

Overall, your proposed configuration is excellent for gaming and school workloads, and the upgrades I suggested will further improve its performance and usability.

Budget (including currency): 1250 CHF or 1400 usd

Country: Switzerland

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly for Gaming (such as FS22, Forza Horizon, GTA, MSFS, Red Dead Redemption, ...) but it should also be able to do some work for school.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

First of all, sorry for my English.
I'm currently using a MacBook Pro (from 2018) setup and it's not exactly suitable for gaming. That's why I want to buy a gaming PC. I already have a monitor (144Hz and 2560x1440), a keyboard and a mouse. So I only need the PC. I already have a possible configuration but I am open to other suggestions or improvements. It can be a litte bit over my budget if it improves the performance. But of course I would be happy if it is cheaper.

My current configuration:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core

GPU: Radeon RX 6800 16GB

CPU Cooling: Corsair H100x

Mainboard: AMD-B550

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200MHz 16GB

Storage: Western Digital Blue 1000GB M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 NVMe

PSU: Corsair RM650x 80+ Gold

Case: Corsair 175R Miditower

What do you think about it? What would you change? Or would you do it completely different? I don't really have any experience and would appreciate some help.

7700 + 6800

No cooler as the wraith prism is adequate, just make sure you tune the thing since stock its limited to 90w, maybe a 5g allcore or whatevers the highest clock you can get while staying under 115c aida64 (non stress test loads should not get the cpu that hot so its fine for the cpu to peak at 115c in a stress test)

No used gpu cause doesnt make sense when the new gpu isnt that much more

Although i reccomend buying a used 850 - 1200w psu since those are heavily discounted compared to new psus problably due to the average normie either never looking at it or thinking that psus only die after 5 years even though they last more like 15 years at worst 10 years

All looks pretty good EXCEPT the case. The case is really bad as it has really poor airflow and should not be gotten. Get a mesh front case.

275 Airflow would be better than what OP have and itll be drop in.
