Quality Ethernet cables

I wanted to order a 100~foot long cat 6 cable from infinite cables for $50 USD, but they wanted $30 in shipping.

Monoprice? They have Cat6a cables in your choice of colors at 100ft for $47, free shipping. I assumed you meant pre-terminated.

Really though if you need that long of a cable have you thought about just getting a bulk cable?

Where would be a good place to get a quality Ethernet cable in the US that's likely to meet or exceed the posted rating?

Without an exorbitant shipping fee.

Amazon has a bunch of stuff but.... I doubt the vetting process and believe I may get ripped off.

A good quality 30m/100ft Cat6 cable doesn't need to cost more than $30. The company that makes most of the cables that I buy is called deleyCON. I don't know if they are in the US, but they're at least on Amazon GER, so I'd almost assume they're in the US too.

Is bulk cable cheaper?

Is there a good brand that would meet its listed specification?

Is monoprice trustworthy?

I thought Linus tech tips found a problem with their HDMI cables not meeting specifications listed

They did. I'm sure it's like most companies, they have good and bad products.

I'm not sure if I would say bulk would cheaper, but you would end up with a lot more of it, and you could make the cables exactly the length you want. It's likely to end up about the same price in the end, but for more cable.

I order power cables, audio cables, and network cables, both terminated and bulk from monoprice. Ive even got quite a few HDMI cables from monoprice actually, no issues (but I don't do anything fancy with them). 90% of my house (ran out had to go buy some at the local hardware store) is wired with monoprice network cable actually. It's setup entirely for 2.5 GbE.  No issues.

But also, what speed are you looking for? I don’t think ever in my life have I had a eth cable not able to handle gigabit… and I have used a lot of cables.

The ratings are stability over long distances.

So if I buy a long cable, the rating matters more.

Right, but 100ft really isn’t crazy. I have ram custom cables all over many houses… I have never had a signal integrity issue. Again, gigabit really isn’t very difficult to achieve, and CAT5e has been a thing for so long, none coming from any sort of brand anyone has ever heard of will have issues.

Just use monoprice. I buy 1k spools from them and make my own runs, but buying premade 100ft is fine as well.

I went with your decision.
I bought a cool green Monoprice cable for $30~.

For the time being I'm "borrowing" a store brand ethernet cable with bent locking lugs from Office Depot with a $60 deposit. (wow... overpriced)
