Hi Guys

I had some issues and googled them. The first article I stumbles upon told me to run memtest86+, so I did. Me, not being all too technical just downloaded it without further inspection. Now I am stuck with the screeen below. And I am wondering: How long will this approximately take? and Is this normal?

For Info: I have DDR5 6000 6000mhz 2x16GB of RAM

Please let me be guided by your knowledge. I also think I will do further posts because my pc has maaaany more issues.

Thanks for your guys response.

Depends on the exact PC, it does depend quite a bit on core count, capacity, and RAM speed, and I haven't run it on AM5 yet, though every time I've run it it's taken something like 4 hours (give or take 2 hours).

Almost 8000 errors? No, that's not normal. Is it running at XMP/EXPO or is it at stock, and what motherboard are you using?

When everything is OK it's good to let it run for several hours in case an issue happens rarely, but given you have thousands of errors already no point letting it run longer.

There should not be any single error on a working system.

1.) It will run as long as you let it, you want to have at the minimum 4 full passes without any errors. Also the more RAM you have the longer it will take to do a full pass.

2.) You have too many errors, your system is very unstable. Try without EXPO/XMP and see if it works, if yes then probably your XMP is causing you issues and you may need to tweak the DRAM timings manually.

Ive got a X670E-Plus WiFi Motherboard

I got it built by a good friend of mine and I think he only turned on AI Overclocking (which he told me to turn off because of the issues im having), but I think nothing else, like EXPO, is turned on. Or at least I dont see it turned on in the BIOS

If you need more details lmk

Yeah, ive let it on iver night in that pic. And I didnt turn it off until this afternoon when I came home. It was sitting at 18000 errors and 22 passes lol. I have no clue what I should do.

For my system it would be EXPO (i guess), since I have an AMD GPU and CPU but i dont see any extra-settings being turned on. I have a DRAM Frequency of 4800MHz. How much would I be supposed to tweak it. (Edit: Original Post was wrong with the 6000MHz, its only 4800MHz)

Try doing a CPU and RAM reseat (RAM first because it's easier, then CPU if it doesn't), plus make sure the RAM is in slots 2 and 4 if you're counting from the CPU, but it does look like you just got a kit of RAM that was DOA. I'd go through those couple of troubleshooting steps above, but if they don't do anything return the RAM and get a replacement kit.

EDIT: Doing a BIOS update isn't a bad troubleshooting step as well, I'd do it before the CPU reseat, but it is still most likely dead RAM. Just make sure to do the update through BIOS flashback with the RAM removed to make sure your unstable RAM doesn't brick the motherboard (ask me how I know).
