So, I have a gaming laptop. It was perfectly fine. It was on and I went for dinner, when I came back I saw the screen was black. When I tried to restart it, same thing. When I connected it to an external display it would show an image. Technically everything is fine, but my screen does not work. What could be the solution?

Laptop:

Asus ROG Strix G15

Ryzen 7 4800H

16 GB RAM

RTX 3050ti Laptop GPU

assuming it isnt oled, does it make light in a dark room and just shows a black image? if so then it could be a lot of things, does it show the bios/can you access it and see?

If not showing light, have it connected to the external monitor in screen duplication mode, then pull up a mostly white screen.
Now with a bright torch or light see if you can point it at the laptop screen in a way it reflects through it and try to see if the screen is showing an image.
if it is, the backlamp is busted. There is 2.5 options when it comes to that, either the led driver or array died in the panel, or something has failed on the mainboard in the power circuit.

if you are sure you cant see anything on the display with light reflecting through it, and it isnt lit up just black, then mang idk

It is not lit up, just black. Display works fine on external monitor. What should I do now?

Take a flashlight, shine into the screen, see if you can see any image. If yes, then the backlight is dead

Also, does windows display settings recognize the internal screen?

There is no image. I did not check the settings though.
