So I just sent a computer out to a customer and got a message back that when they got the computer and unboxed it there were some things loose and they said they opened the front panel and found this fan pictured below. I have  no idea, of where this fan came from. The computer, had two red fans and a cossair white fan there are no fans that match what is in the picture. does anyone know where this fan came from? I think the buyer might be trying something sketchy.

either that or they took the outside of the fan to ride out to the sunset with them

i assume since you sent it out, you are aware of what parts are inside.

 

perhaps it's from the CPU or GPU cooler, but from the design on the fan hub i'm assuming it's from a *rather old* product...

 

EDIT: PS: my gigabyte HD5770  used to randomly eject it's fan.. there was a fault with the bearing that only really showed up at 100% fan speed.

i think it's from the GPU that is an Xfx logo and it is an xfx rx 580 oc black edition. i just don't know how a fan would fall out like that.

so yeah its an xfx gpu fan, as you do not know where it came from you must not have had the meshed front off? or it was lodged somewhere in there. what can you do if the pc is working as should apologise and give a vaild explaination, its from another pc and you did not realise it was in there.
