Board, Storage and PSU all seem a little expensive. Any reason for why these parts?

Also the case is expensive, but if you like the look and can put up with the cost, then fair enough.

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

Not bad, there are a couple things I'd change though. First off, the CPU cooler is a bit expensive, there are significantly cheaper coolers like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 and Deepcool AK620 that will outperform the NH-D15, plus the 7800X3D is a very low power chip so you could save a bit more and be fine with a cooler like the ID-Cooling SE-214-XT and still have pretty usable temps. Next, the PSU is pretty overkill and does not have a native 12VHPWR connector, with a 4090 you should aim for an ATX 3.0 PSU and you should be able to save a solid ~40 euros by going with something like an MSI A1000G PCIe5 instead.

Thanks for the info, will definitely look into those coolers and ATX 3.0 power supplies.

Wanted to over spec the PSU though so I don't need to upgrade it if I upgrade the CPU/GPU a couple years down the line .

Hallo @GTC

Have you considered the Aorus B650 Elite Mobo?

Seasonic Vertex GX 1000 could be a PSU alternative with 12pin power (ATX 3.0)

Artic liquid Freezer 2 420 is really cheap, and can fit the Torrent case at the front if you modify the bottom fan bracket(very easy). Might be overkill, but it will keep your system nice and cool.

I would switch out the Noctua fans, and just buy the cheap Arctic P14 PWM fans. The Fractal fans are also fairly decent.

I honestly don't know much about motherboards, would this be worth the 35€ price increase compared to the ASUS one in my parts list?

I'd prefer to get a 1200 watt power supply for future proofing as the PSU is probably the last thing I will upgrade from this build in the future.

I would prefer to air cool over using an AIO just because air coolers tend to hold up longer and if something goes wrong it's not as bad.

I plan to use the fractal fans, just needed an extra fan for exaust, will look in to the Artic fan though.

Thanks for the suggestions!! :))

Well... I've used Gigabyte in all of my latest builds(both personal and work), and they have performed rock steady. Not the B-boards, but I reckon they are well built as well.

Rgr... it comes in a 1200 version as well, and was in fact the one i was supposed to have written.

Understandable... I have only experienced leaks in a custom loop, maybe 20 years ago, when Asetek did their first. I use AIO in all my builds now, and have been for the last 10 years. No problems yet... (knock on wood)...

They are also very decent. Arctic are just extremely great value for money. I used to buy Noctua fans, especially the PPS fans, and they are also great... Just not as good value as the Arctic. It gets really expensive if all fans need to be switched out for Noctuas.

You are very welcome... 🙂
